Dance within the Family is an attempt to implement an original form of creative activity, experimenting art through the play, giving the possibility to everyone to freely express and share feelings and emotions.
Imagination, participation, coexistence, solidarity and tenderness are stimulated through games that become a key channel for experimentation. With the help of other professionals, Dance within the Family extends this proposal to other arts such as theater, music, painting, circus and performance.
Dance within the Family is a project that looks for artistic creation, diffusion and claim. Through a collective experience it activates and develops guest artists’ and participating families’ creativity.
The project director is Juan Eduardo López, artistic director and founder of several dance projects in Barcelona like Dies de Dansa, an international dance festival in urban landscapes (1991-2012) or the international network CQD - Dancing Cities (created in 1997), a project that connects, through contemporary dance festivals in public spaces. In 2004 he started Interferencias (2004-2008), a sample of interventions by artists from different backgrounds (visual artists and performers in particular) in the public spaces. Currently he gives Dance within the Family sessions anf formation.
